Work with CARE International in Cambodia, and the Partnering to Save Lives (PSL) program, with their overall goal of saving the lives of women and neonates in Cambodia through improved quality, access and utilisation of reproductive, maternal and neonatal health services through a partnership approach.

As a Midwife Clinical Quality Advisor you will be based in CARE Cambodia’s Mondolkiri office to support the PSL Program. The PSL Program is a multi-year partnership among three NGO Partners (CARE Cambodia, Marie Stopes International Cambodia and Save the Children), the Cambodian Ministry of Health and Australian Aid to develop and implement a five-year program contributing to the implementation of Cambodia’s Fast Track Initiative for Reducing Maternal and Newborn Mortality 2010-2015; an initiative designed explicitly to expedite Cambodia’s progress toward reaching Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5.

Your role will be to provide clinical evidence-based capacity development guidance and recommendations to PSL clinical staff who are working closely with Ministry of Health staff to improve the equity and quality of health service delivery in four north-eastern provinces in Cambodia – with a particular focus on Ratanakiri and Mondolkiri.  This will include developing clinical guidelines for mentoring and coaching, supporting improvements with regards to the quality of care delivered by health centre midwives, and strengthening linkages between health centres and hospitals.

Your role will directly support CARE Cambodia’s efforts in improving the situation of socially marginalised women (including ethnic minorities), reducing rural poverty, and increasing the empowerment of local women.
